| The La Trobe University Mountaineering Club (LUMC) is more than just scaling alpine peaks, its a club devoted to the enjoyment of the outdoors based on an appreciation of the natural environment and motivated by the desire for exploration, adventure and the "wilderness experience". Outdoor adventure sports, as offered by LUMC provide challenge, excitement and the right environment to discover more about yourself and your fellow members. LUMC also provides the ideal blend of activities for anyone interested in health and fitness and keen to develop an appreciation of our natural heritage. The club is run by students for students with considerable emphasis being placed on the passing on of knowledge to beginners.
