LUMC’s annual Big Weekend is an introductory weekend for all our new members early in Semester 1. Beginners and experienced members are all welcome as it is always an action packed and exciting weekend.
You’ll get to try 3 of; bushwalking (day walk, taking in some spectacular scenery and views!), rock climbing (a good intro to outdoor climbing), orienteering/adventure race (NEW!) and white water kayaking on the Goulburn River. (If you want to do kayaking you must have attended one of the Tuesday night training sessions prior.)
The Cathedral Range State Park is about 1 1/2 hours drive north east of Melbourne and is guaranteed to give you a unique Australian camping experience.
And it only costs $70 (non-members $100) which includes transport, camping fees, equipment for activities, 2 breakfasts and Saturday night dinner. You’ll need to provide lunches. Dinner is usually bought on the way up on Friday night.
