Where to buy your own gear

If you intend to purchase your own equipment strongly recommended that you don't go all-out and buy everything at once, especially if you're new to a sport. Gear acquisition is expensive "hobby" and is best undertaken with time and experience and a few words of advice from fellow club members. Gear hire is available from LUMC at scandalously cheap prices, so spending large sums of money to try kayaking or rock climbing initially is not necessary.

Initial purchases may include

  • Thermals (useful for most activities, and keep you nice and warm at uni too)
  • Boots
  • Backpack capable of swallowing a weekends worth of gear
