Spaces will be limited based on the ability to transport kayaks there. If you have roof racks/tow bar or are willing to use soft racks to help transport kayaks, please put that in the trip comments.
The plan is to do the lower homestead-wittons reserve section of the Yarra near Warrandyte, which is one of the best beginner whitewater kayaking stretches in the state, and do a quick run or two. We will go over some basic whitewater paddling techniques so that you can start learning how to handle kayaking in whitewater.
Car pooling will be arranged by the trip leader, you will be notified of this a few days before the trip.

Wetsuit/thermals if you feel the cold (Absolutely no cotton) - limited numbers available that can be hired from boat shed
Wetsuit boots or old shoes to wear in the water (closed-toed full coverage)
Dry change of clothes and towel for the end of the day, and a dry pair of shoes in case you use an old pair on the water.

It is your responsibility to ensure you have the right gear. Trip leaders can answer questions you might have. If you dont have the right gear you may get left at uni and leaders might be unwilling to take you in the future.
